Το Sappho Women – International Eressos Women’s Festival διοργανώνεται κάθε Σεπτέμβρη για δύο εβδομάδες.
Το Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Γυναικών Ερεσός είναι μια μοναδική και μη-κερδοσκοπική εκδήλωση, που γιορτάζει την ιστορία, τον πολιτισμό, τα επιτεύγματα και την ποικιλομορφία των γυναικών. Όλες οι γυναίκες είναι ευπρόσδεκτες, ανεξάρτητα από τη φυλή, την ηλικία, τα ενδιαφέροντα, ή τη σεξουαλικότητα. Το φεστιβάλ είναι μια ευκαιρία να συμμετάσχουν σε κοινωνικές και δημιουργικές δραστηριότητες, να κάνουν νέους φίλους, να δικτυωθούν, να μάθουν νέες δεξιότητες και να μοιραστούν τα ταλέντα, να απολαύσουν μια γεύση του ελληνικού πολιτισμού

This year is going to rock!
September is time for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and questioning women to visit the island of Lesvos for the annual two-week lesbian festival. The 2017 Festival takes place from 9 – 23 September and it will once more promise to be a fantastic celebration.
Lesbians have been coming to Lesvos for the summer since the 50s, drawn to the birthplace of Sappho, the Greek poet who wrote about her love for women. The festival is a laid-back international event drawing women from all over the world to the beautiful, unspoiled Greek beach village of Skala Eressos. It is the best of a laid-back Greek summer holiday and an international festival rolled into one.
Skala Eressos has been a magnet for gay women since the ‘50s and the festival is a much more chilled-out affair than some of the more recently created lesbian festivals. The busy programme of events includes women-only walks and sunset cruises, art and culture, boat trips to the hot springs, breathing and drumming workshops, beach volleyball, DJs and live music, Greek dance classes and film screenings.
